Mental Health

It all started when...

Mental health affects everybody. We all have times when we feel down or stressed or even anxious, and most of the time those feelings pass; but it is when they linger that it can have a detrimental affect on our health and impact our life negatively.

There are many different types of mental health disorders

Over the years and more so recently, I have delved into self help app’s to manage my thoughts and feelings, as well as keep me calm in those unnerving situations (we have them!).

1. Calm

3. Youper - Anxiety & Depression

Youper is a new way to take care of your mental health. Created by doctors and therapists, it uses Artificial Intelligence to understand your needs and provide you with everything you need to feel your best. It incorporates strategies from Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other science-backed approaches.

Youper does not provide diagnosis or treatment. It is not a replacement for professional help, but it can support you to take care of your emotional health and works alongside therapy or other treatments if you are seeing a doctor or therapist.

4. Microsoft To Do: List, Task & Reminder

To Do is for sure my favorite and most used app! I am one of those people that make lists, to make more lists. I can only fully function with a list, so this app is a game changer, for you can share your lists with others!

Microsoft To Do is a task management app to help you stay organized and manage your day-to-day life. You can use Microsoft To Do to make shopping lists or task lists, take notes, record collections, plan an event, or set reminders to increase your productivity and focus on what matters to you. Microsoft To Do makes it easy to stay organized and manage your life. I tend to have a daily list, a weekly list and then sub lists for the odd thing I aim to do etc. To Do really aids your motivation, for that satisfaction of ticking off your To Do list, is bliss!

5. Diary - Write Journal, Memoir, Mood & Notes book

Diary – Write Journal, Memoir, Mood & Notes book is a pin code password protected personal journal app, that you can use to write down good memories or private notes.  Before going to sleep I like to create a journal entry for my day, detailing what I could improve about my day, what I learnt today and simply detailing the day I had. The feature that sets this diary aside from others is you can upload images of your day, whether it be a food selfie, or being with friends, reading a book etc.

Diary can also sync with Dropbox to keep your diary entries accessible on all your devices or export it as a PDF file to print it, which makes it great if you wanted to share, print off and look back over your memories to reflect on your daily, monthly and yearly progress.
